     We have a client that lives at the top of a hill with the front gate access located at the bottom. The problem they have is that there is no way for them to know when guest have arrived. The front gate stays locked and in the past guest had to call them to let them know they have arrived and the client had to go down the steps to unlock the gate, let the person in, and then climb the steps back to the house.

Our solution; the Control4 door station a full-motion video and wide-band audio intercom, that provides audio and video intercom communications with the Control4 7" In-Wall Touch Screen with Camera and the new Control4 7" Portable Touch Screen with Camera.

Along with the Door Station, we used the Card Access Wireless Contact Relay that opens and closes automatic doors, blinds and gates to trigger the Securitron GL1 Gate Lock an electronically controlled gate lock.

We installed the Control4 Home Starter Kit (click here to see our post) which addressed their issue and gave them a foundation to build a fully controlled house at their pace. Now they not only have total control over the front gate with access directly from any of their smart devices but also control over their family room AV system, with lighting control.
